Zimbabwe, a landlocked country in Southern Africa known for its diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and incredible wildlife. From the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, to the vast savannahs of Hwange National Park and the ancient stone ruins of Great Zimbabwe, the country offers a blend of natural beauty and historical significance. Victoria Falls, known as "The Smoke That Thunders," is a stunning waterfall on the Zambezi River, located between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is one of the largest waterfalls in the world, with a width of 1.7 km and a height of over 100 meters. The mist and thunderous roar of the falls can be experienced from miles away. Visitors can enjoy the famous Devil's Pool on the Zambian side during the dry season, offering a thrilling view from the edge. The surrounding rainforest is rich in biodiversity, with trails offering multiple viewpoints. Adventure activities like white-water rafting, bungee jumping, and helicopter flights are popular, and the area is rich in cultural heritage and abundant wildlife, with nearby national parks home to elephants, buffalo, and more.
Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s largest and most diverse wildlife reserve, is celebrated for its expansive savannahs and rich biodiversity. It boasts one of Africa's largest elephant populations, alongside lions, leopards, giraffes, and more than 400 bird species. The park's numerous watering holes draw a wide range of wildlife, offering exceptional game viewing, particularly in the dry season. With its blend of open plains, woodlands, and wetlands, Hwange provides a truly authentic safari experience, offering breathtaking wildlife encounters amidst pristine, untouched wilderness.
Matobo National Park, also called Matopos, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Zimbabwe, renowned for its striking granite formations and ancient rock art. The park’s distinctive landscape, with its balancing rocks, wooded valleys, and rugged hills, creates a breathtaking setting for outdoor exploration. Steeped in both history and wildlife, Matobo is home to rhinos, leopards, and numerous bird species, including the highest concentration of Verreaux's eagles in the world. Visitors can immerse themselves in the park’s cultural heritage by viewing ancient San rock paintings and visiting the sacred burial site of Cecil Rhodes.
